[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has completed the renovation of the ‘Youth Counseling Welfare Center · Youth Support Center (Kkumdreem)’ at the Sinwol 6-dong Administrative Complex Town and officially started operations on August 16.
The ‘Youth Counseling Welfare Center · Youth Support Center (Kkumdreem)’ are located on the 2nd floor of the newly constructed Sinwol 6-dong Administrative Complex Town this year, with areas of 242.4㎡ and 98.7㎡ respectively. The centers feature well-organized spaces including ▲education rooms ▲activity rooms ▲group counseling rooms ▲five individual counseling rooms (Neulbom Room, Nori Room, Ip-sae Room, Haesol Room, Raon Room), providing a cozy and comfortable environment for visiting youth.
The ‘Youth Counseling Welfare Center’ offers comprehensive integrated support services for youth in crisis, including personal counseling on family issues, romantic relationships, career concerns, peer (interpersonal) relationships, as well as emergency rescue, self-sufficiency, and medical support.
Additionally, professional staff qualified as youth counselors, including the center director, and ‘Youth Companions’ (activists) operate a ‘mobile counseling office’ that visits communities directly, while also running youth and parent education and family experience programs close to the local area.
The ‘Youth Support Center (Kkumdreem)’ runs customized career programs year-round to support out-of-school youth in designing their future independently, offering psychological counseling, educational support (such as GED preparation), employment activities, and self-reliance assistance.
Especially in the second half of this year, through the resident participation budget project, ‘Yang.Gong.Hak (Yangcheon Craft School) Season 2’ will be promoted, allowing out-of-school youth to gain diverse experiences such as cultural exploration, travel, and job experiences, and based on these, derive ways to contribute to the local community.
Last year, ‘Yang.Gong.Hak Season 1’ moved hearts quietly as participants donated the profits from selling crafts they made themselves to the local community, acting as agents of sharing.
Youth wishing to use the ‘Youth Counseling Welfare Center · Youth Support Center (Kkumdreem)’ can inquire via the youth hotline or apply online by searching for ‘Kkumdreem’.
