Explore Math Joyfully and Deeply During Summer Vacation
Ulsan Math Culture Center Summer Vacation Experience Program Operation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jeonghwan] Ulsan Mathematics Culture Center operated the 'Summer Vacation Math Laboratory,' an experiential program where students can enjoy and deeply explore mathematics, for four days from the 10th to the 13th.
The Math Laboratory was run as a student-centered advanced math exploration program, targeting 5th to 6th grade elementary and 1st to 2nd grade middle school students, allowing them to choose topics they wanted to participate in on their own.
The elementary program covered topics such as dual polyhedra and automata for shape exploration, while the middle school program focused on eight curriculum-based math concepts including tensegrity, barcodes and binary system, and Sepaktakraw. It provided an opportunity to quench the thirst for math for students who are usually very interested in the subject.
Since its opening on August 10, Ulsan Mathematics Culture Center has been preparing and operating customized programs suitable for students with various mathematical attitudes, including those who are very interested in math and those who have difficulties with it.
