Coway Achieves Recognition as Certified Testing Institution by Korean Accreditation Body for 20 Consecutive Years
Coway Environmental Technology Research Institute Recognized for International Standard Testing and Analysis Capabilities in Water Quality and Microbiology
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coway (CEO Lee Hae-seon and Seo Jang-won) announced on the 17th that its Environmental Technology Research Institute has obtained accreditation as an internationally certified testing institution from the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) for 20 consecutive years.
The KOLAS testing institution accreditation system is a program that officially recognizes testing institutions as having international-level testing capabilities by comprehensively evaluating their quality management systems and testing technical skills according to international standards set by international standard-related organizations.
Coway's Environmental Technology Research Institute has maintained its KOLAS international certified testing institution qualification for 20 consecutive years by being recognized for its testing capabilities and facility environment that meet international standards, as well as its expertise as a testing institution. Since first obtaining KOLAS accreditation in 2002, the institute has undergone renewal evaluations every four years to verify its certified testing institution status.
The Coway Environmental Technology Research Institute has obtained KOLAS international certified testing institution recognition for a total of 52 standards, including 41 standards in the water quality field and 11 standards in the microbiology field. In particular, during this renewal evaluation, it gained additional recognition for six items in the drinking water quality inspection standards, including color, turbidity, bromate, and uranium, thereby strengthening its capabilities as a specialized water quality analysis testing institution.
In addition to KOLAS certification, Coway's Environmental Technology Research Institute conducts credible testing and analysis as a drinking water quality inspection agency under the Ministry of Environment and as a TSP testing laboratory accredited by the American Water Works Association. Based on world-class water quality analysis capabilities, it issues approximately 20,000 test reports annually.
