[Asia Economy Reporter Kim So-young] Kim So-yeon, former People Power Party (PPP) district committee chairperson for Daejeon Yuseong (lawyer), who had previously launched harsh criticism against Lee Jun-seok, the PPP leader, has now criticized, "Even party lawmakers, reporters, and even members of the Democratic Party call him 'our Jun-seok' and no one has ever properly scolded that guy. They have been coddling him, and now we have reached this situation."
On the 16th, Kim posted on her Facebook, stating, "Those of you who are currently giving this leader a 'kkabangwon' (protection from criticism) will be remembered as sinners of history along with Jun-seok."
She added, "If you make wrong judgments at critical moments due to personal feelings, if you betray the will of the people who long for a regime change, you will surely pay the price. If the media, the party's supreme council members, and lawmakers all continue to think naively and just brush off this situation, the people will not forgive you," warning strongly.
Kim’s remarks are interpreted as relating to recent controversies surrounding Lee’s leaked phone call recordings with former Prosecutor General Yoon, and debates over Lee’s responsibility in the PPP primary debate attendance dispute.
Previously, on the 25th of last month, Kim criticized Lee on her Facebook, calling him "a damn fool among fools who lost three times but acts like he knows all about politics." The next day, referring to the meeting between former Prosecutor General Yoon and Lee, she said, "Yoon is a master. It seems he can handle that snake-like guy without getting drained and manage him well."
