11 Confirmed Cases in 3 Days at 4 Highway Rest Area Screening Sites

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Eleven confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected over the past three days at temporary screening clinics set up at highway rest areas to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the vacation season.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 16th, a total of 5,097 people were tested at temporary screening clinics installed at four highway rest areas on the northbound routes in the metropolitan area from the 13th to the 15th, with 11 confirmed positive cases. The positivity rate among those tested was 0.21%.
The government established testing sites on the 13th at Anseong Rest Area on the Gyeongbu Line (Seoul-bound), Icheon Rest Area on the Jungbu Line (Hanam-bound), Hwaseong Rest Area on the Seohaean Line (Seoul-bound), and Yongin Rest Area on the Yeongdong Line (Incheon-bound), which are routes returning to the metropolitan area, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in local communities by people unknowingly infected while on vacation.
These testing sites will operate daily until the end of this month from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., excluding meal times from 1 to 2 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m.
