Vespa, 2Q Sales of 13.6 Billion KRW... "Expecting Performance Rebound with New Release in August"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Vespa announced on the 13th through its Q2 earnings report that it recorded consolidated sales of 13.6 billion KRW. Operating loss and net loss for the same period were 12.6 billion KRW and 11.3 billion KRW, respectively.
The main factor behind the poor performance was the continued aggressive investment due to the development of multiple new titles and diversification of IP-based businesses.
Vespa plans to lead a performance rebound in the second half of the year with "Time Defenders," which has raised expectations for its release by achieving an unprecedented 200,000 pre-registrations in the Japanese pre-order market in a short period. Subsequently, the company aims to establish a solid mobile lineup based on globally proven IPs such as "King's Raid 2" and "Shining Force: Heirs of Light," laying the foundation for long-term growth.

A Vespa representative stated, "Considering that similar genre games with pre-registration results comparable to our own have recorded annual sales exceeding 100 billion KRW in Japan, expectations for the success of 'Time Defenders' are rising," adding, "We will successfully establish 'Time Defenders' in Japan, scheduled for release on the 24th, to achieve a performance turnaround and deliver growth that meets market expectations."
