Hwang Kyo-ik, Food Columnist, Appointed as President of Gyeonggi Tourism Organization
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Hwang Kyo-ik (59, photo), a taste columnist, has been nominated as the new president candidate of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, which has been vacant for 8 months.
Hwang is scheduled to undergo a personnel hearing at the Gyeonggi Provincial Council on the 30th of this month and is expected to be appointed as president as early as early September.
Hwang previously worked as a reporter for Nongmin Sinmun and is currently active as a taste columnist specializing in food and cuisine. He has appeared on various TV programs and gained recognition, and notably, in July, Governor Lee personally appeared on Hwang's YouTube channel 'Hwang Kyo-ik TV' to share memories related to food, establishing a connection.
