SKT Provides Galaxy Books and Smartphones to ICT-Disadvantaged Children
[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] SK Telecom announced on the 13th that it will start a donation project to support ICT-disadvantaged children with Samsung Electronics' laptops, tablets, smartphones, and more, in collaboration with Save the Children.
This initiative aims to help ICT-disadvantaged children who are struggling to participate in remote classes due to the shift to untact learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. SK Telecom will provide laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other devices necessary for remote classes to children using child protection agencies and foster care support centers under Save the Children.
Moon Gap-in, head of SK Telecom's Smart Device Group, said, "We hope this smart device donation project will protect the learning rights of ICT-disadvantaged children in an era where untact classes are the norm," adding, "We will continue to discover and implement ESG projects that convert corporate profits into social value."
