Press Union: "If the Media Arbitration Act Amendment is Forced, We Will Fight Against the Ruling Party"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] The National Union of Media Workers on the 12th defined the amendment to the Media Arbitration Act led by the Democratic Party of Korea as a "deterioration of media control" bill and announced that it would launch a strong struggle if it is forcibly passed.
On the same day, the Media Union finalized its response and struggle plan against the Media Arbitration Act at an emergency central executive committee meeting.
The Media Union's central executive committee judged that the Democratic Party's amendment to the Media Arbitration Act is more likely to be abused by those in power and conglomerates to suit their own interests rather than providing relief to ordinary citizens.
The central executive committee discussed specific struggle plans and practical guidelines for union members in line with the Democratic Party's August legislative schedule.
