National Revolutionary Party "Gwangbokjeol Walking Event to Proceed... Legal Consequences for Interference"
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The People’s Revolutionary Party, which announced an event in the form of a 'walking exercise' in downtown Seoul during the Liberation Day holiday, reiterated its determination to proceed with the event.
On the 12th, the People’s Revolutionary Party held a press conference in front of Donghwa Duty Free Shop in Jongno-gu, Seoul, stating, "The national walking exercise is a legal event that does not violate current laws," and added, "If it is regarded as an illegal assembly and public authorities use force to install barricades or obstacles, we will take civil and criminal legal action."
They continued, "The walking exercise will be conducted over three days in a dispersed manner to prevent a large number of people from gathering in one place, and will take place freely without assembly from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the form of a walk," asserting, "Since there are no placards or slogans, it is not a form of protest or assembly."
