According to the Jeju Regional Headquarters of Korea Airports Corporation on the 11th, this joint inspection was carried out to strengthen checks on illegal hidden cameras during the peak season when passenger traffic is concentrated, aiming to prevent digital sex crimes and create a safe restroom environment.
The joint inspection involved forming an inspection team and utilizing detection equipment owned by each agency to inspect all airport restrooms, and no cases of illegal cameras were found during the inspection.
The Jeju Regional Headquarters of Korea Airports Corporation stated, “This year, we newly purchased four of the latest illegal hidden camera detectors and regularly inspect vulnerable facilities such as restrooms and infant lounges,” adding, “We plan to continue inspections and cooperate with related agencies so that passengers can use Jeju Airport with peace of mind.”
Meanwhile, the corporation conducts inspections at least once a week in three stages?visual inspection, radio wave detection, and lens detection?according to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s public restroom illegal filming inspection manual.
