Chonnam National University Ranks No.1 Among National Universities for Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Support Projects
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Chonnam National University ranked first among national flagship universities in the humanities and social sciences academic support project.
On the 11th, Chonnam National University announced that it secured 2.9 billion KRW in new research funding in the 2021 'Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Support Project,' supported by the Korea Research Foundation (Ministry of Education) divided into four research fields: individual, joint, performance dissemination, and group, ranking first among national flagship universities.
Additionally, it showed outstanding results in the individual research sector 'Training the Next Generation of Scholars' (Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Research Professors) and the group research field 'Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Support Project.'
The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Chonnam National University stated, "The efforts in various individual research fields such as the New Researcher Support Project, Mid-Career Researcher Support Project, Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Research Professor Project, Writing and Publishing Support Project, and Classic Translation Support Project demonstrate that Chonnam National University is achieving balanced accumulation and growth of research capabilities across all humanities fields." It also added, "Furthermore, the increase in research project achievements in the humanities and social sciences by researchers in science and engineering fields indicates a rise in creative researchers suitable for convergence and fusion projects."
President Jeong Seong-taek said, "We will actively support excellent researchers who will lead the era of creation and convergence to achieve outstanding research outcomes."
