Deputy Prime Minister Hong "Hopes for Continued MOUs Between Government and Economic Organizations"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, stated, "We will proceed with gathering opinions and consultations on economic matters, including next year's minimum wage and the level of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to be submitted by 2030."
On the 11th, Deputy Prime Minister Hong held a meeting with heads of economic organizations at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, saying, "We will listen carefully to the voices from the economic field in broad terms and make every effort to reflect policies as much as possible."
This meeting with economic organization heads was the third held this year, following sessions in February and April. Attendees included Chey Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Sohn Kyung-shik, Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation; Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs; Kang Ho-gap, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises; and Lee Kwan-seop, Vice Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association.
Deputy Prime Minister Hong added that he hopes for continued momentum in cooperation and business agreements between the government and economic organizations.
He emphasized, "I look forward to the economic sector and the government putting their heads together and working collaboratively to support economic recovery, rebound, and preparation for the future economy."

Meanwhile, regarding the recent economic situation, Deputy Prime Minister Hong stated, "The third quarter will be crucial for this year's economic recovery speed and the 4.2% economic growth target." He added, "The third quarter is expected to be an important turning point in various aspects, including variant spread, quarantine control, economic sentiment, real economy trends, and fiscal and financial policy responses."
