Gwangju University Holds Award Ceremony for Retired Faculty and Staff Recognizing Their Service

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Gwangju University (Kim Hyuk-jong) announced on the 11th that it held a ceremony in the administration building conference room to present service plaques to retired faculty and staff for the first half of 2021, confer honorary professor appointments, and issue appointment letters to new academic committee members.
The retired faculty and staff include Professor Jeong Cheol-gi of the Department of Real Estate Finance, Professor Lee Bong-gyu of the Department of Interior Design, Professor Jeong Tae-shin of the Department of Social Welfare, Shin Geun-soo, a dormitory staff member, Jo Won-jung, an information computing center staff member, and Kim Chae-won from the Talent Development Team of the Employment and Student Support Office, totaling six people. On this day, Professor Jeong Cheol-gi was appointed as an honorary professor.
Additionally, Professor Joo Chi-soo of the Department of Convergence Design and Professor Jo Jeong-sik of the Department of Fire Administration were appointed as Dean of the College of Cultural Industries and Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, respectively. Furthermore, Professor Im Hyeong-taek of the Department of Youth Counseling and Lifelong Education was appointed as Director of the Hosim Memorial Library, and Professor Choi Hu-nam of the Department of Business Administration was appointed as Director of the Lifelong Education Center.
President Kim Hyuk-jong said, "Gwangju University was able to grow because of all of you who have retired," and added, "I ask you to always support the school and the juniors."
