[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST, President Kim Ki-seon) has stepped up to support the growth of startup companies.
On the 11th, GIST announced that it will collaborate with global companies Dassault Syst?mes, Ansys, and Siemens to support 60 startups in the advanced manufacturing and health diagnostics sectors, and assist them in attracting domestic and international investments and entering global markets.
GIST was selected as the host institution for the 2021 Global Corporate Collaboration Program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and received a total project budget of approximately 8.27 billion KRW this year.
Selected companies in this Global Corporate Collaboration Program will receive up to 300 million KRW in commercialization funds. The global companies will provide customized programs, while GIST plans to offer technical support, consulting, and networking.
Ki Sung-geun, head of GIST’s Corporate Support Center, said, “GIST has previously achieved tangible results by growing startups into KOSDAQ-listed companies through the Startup Leap Package support project. Through this Global Corporate Collaboration Program, we will spare no effort in providing systematic support such as accelerating growth, attracting investments, and supporting overseas market entry so that startups can grow into global companies.”
Meanwhile, until the 12th, GIST plans to hold an online business briefing session for selected companies, providing guidance on the dedicated and host institutions, global companies, program introductions, agreement briefings, and business operation instructions.
