Shinhan Card Holds Online Awards Ceremony for the 20th Little Picasso Drawing Contest
Online Award Ceremony Video Broadcast for 15 Grand Prize Winners
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 11th that it held the online awards ceremony for the 20th Little Picasso Drawing Contest.
Following last year, this awards ceremony was conducted by releasing it through Shinhan Card's YouTube and Instagram accounts, considering the COVID-19 situation. The ceremony featured works selected for Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Merit Award, Special Award, and Popularity Award in three categories: Kindergarten (ages 4 and above), Lower Elementary (grades 1-3), and Upper Elementary (grades 4-6), along with the recipients' acceptance speeches in the awards video.
The contest, held from May to July over three sessions as a mobile application (app)-based digital drawing competition, received entries from about 1,900 children. Through fair judging by professional judges from the Korea Fine Arts Association, 45 works passed the preliminary round, and a second round of judging determined the final winners. Notably, customers directly participated in voting, and the three works that received the most 'likes' were selected for the Popularity Award.
The Grand Prize winners were Yang Seo-yoon from Haengsin Elementary School Attached Kindergarten in the Kindergarten category, Hwang Jun-hyun from Jungtap Elementary School in the Lower Elementary category, and Wang Min-ah from Seoul Gildong Elementary School in the Upper Elementary category. These three Grand Prize winners were awarded the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award.
The winning children received certificates along with scholarships: 1,000,000 KRW each for the Grand Prize, 500,000 KRW each for the Excellence and Popularity Awards, 300,000 KRW each for the Merit Award, and a one-year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription as a prize for the Special Award.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Little Picasso Drawing Contest this year, a special program titled "Meeting the Little Picasso Who Became an Adult" was also produced. It featured past winners sharing memories and episodes, connecting changes in their lives since winning the contest to their current daily lives through video.
