Changwon City Cracks Down on Illegal Operations of Entertainment Venues and Singing Practice Rooms
Implementation of Gathering Ban under Social Distancing Level 4 Administrative Order
Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, will take strong measures against illegal operations of entertainment facilities and singing practice rooms in accordance with social distancing level 4.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that it will expand the Level 4 social distancing gathering ban order to include entertainment bars, karaoke bars, holdem pubs, and singing practice rooms.
Accordingly, the establishments that had been operating until 10 PM must suspend operations from 0:00 on August 9th until 24:00 on August 16th.
The city will strengthen inspections and crackdowns on illegal business activities violating the gathering ban through joint police task force operations.
By reinforcing the public-private-police cooperation system, autonomous inspection teams composed of entertainment district officials will be operated, and when violating establishments are found, the city and police will take joint measures.
So far, the city has imposed fines on 82 establishments and 265 users for violating quarantine rules, and has ordered suspension of operations for 13 establishments and filed 8 complaints.

Lee Seong-rim, Director of the Health and Hygiene Division, said, "We will continue guidance and crackdowns in cooperation with the police against illegal business activities such as violations of the gathering ban," and added, "We ask for active cooperation from business owners to prevent the spread of COVID-19."
