Considering the recent school violence incidents that have emerged in the entertainment and sports sectors as a social issue, the two organizations decided to jointly promote the pilot project with the intention of having the entire local community come together to seek solutions.
This pilot project aims to develop an excellent Busan-type model for ‘Making School Violence Zero!’
It will be conducted in two elementary schools in 2022. Elementary students in grades 4 to 6 at the participating schools will take part in stage-specific programs?prevention, occurrence, and post-occurrence?developed by an expert advisory group. The final excellent model will be completed after analysis and evaluation in December 2022.
An agreement to promote this project was signed on the 6th, attended by Jeon Hye-sook, Director of the Women and Family Bureau of Busan City; Kim Kwang-soo, Director of the Education Bureau of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education; and Jang Eun-sun, Director of the School Violence Prevention and Recovery Mediation Center.
According to the agreement, Busan City will carry out tasks such as developing the excellent model, operating the expert advisory group, and holding forums to raise public interest through the School Violence Prevention and Recovery Mediation Center. The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will select and manage the pilot schools and participate in developing the excellent model.

At the signing ceremony, Jeon Hye-sook, Director of the Women and Family Bureau, stated, “We will create a Busan free of school violence and protect and support children and adolescents so that they can live healthily and happily.”
