View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] A restaurant owner’s story about a customer who ordered 24 bottles of bottled water and left a review saying "It’s bland" along with a 'star rating attack' has sparked outrage online.
On the 7th, a Facebook page called 'Songtan) I Tell You' posted a story from a restaurant owner who, after much 고민 (concern), sent bottled water that was ordered but ended up receiving a star rating attack.
The restaurant owner A, who requested anonymity, said, "These days, delivery businesses live off reviews. What kind of behavior is this?" and shared a screenshot of the order receipt and star rating review screen. The revealed photo showed an order receipt for 24 bottles of bottled water and a screenshot of a review left by the customer on the delivery app saying "Ordered menu: bottled water" and "It’s too bland."
A said, "I felt sorry giving water to the delivery person, and (the address was) on the 5th floor without an elevator," adding, "I agonized over sending 24 bottles of bottled water, but this is too much."
A also said he was even more upset about the customer’s review saying the water was "bland." He said, "If there was a problem with the food, I would humbly accept, acknowledge, and apologize. But ordering water and then saying it’s bland? That doesn’t make sense," adding, "It’s not that I’m angry because they gave one star, but I’m angry because this is unreasonable."
According to A, the customer who ordered the bottled water also left reviews on other restaurants saying things like "lack of sincerity." A said, "They said they ordered water from places other than us, so I’m curious what kind of reviews they left," and requested, "Please don’t harass business owners and be polite when ordering."
The post received over 1,000 comments. Netizens reacted with comments such as "I can’t believe someone buys water like that," "There are all kinds of people," and "I also once agonized over an order of 15 bowls of rice and ended up canceling it."
As the story gained attention, A posted an additional message saying, "When I first saw the water order, I was dumbfounded and wondered whether to deliver it. But when I asked the delivery driver, they said it was possible, so I accepted the order," adding, "Still, I should not have accepted the order in the first place."

He continued, "We are a restaurant, and the food sold in the store is ordered according to customer needs, so if anything is possible, I thought we should send it. Selling water doesn’t bring much profit," and said, "I did not post this with the intention of gaining profit. Next time, we will not accept strange orders without hesitation."
