Gyeonggi Office of Education Publishes Green Smart Future School Data Book
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has produced and distributed to each school the booklets "Design Book for Creating Future School Environments" and "Guide to Future School Environment Creation Projects" to help understand Green Smart Future Schools.
Green Smart Future Schools are schools selected for having buildings over 40 years old by 2025, which are transformed into advanced schools based on digital and eco-friendly foundations to realize various future-oriented teaching and learning methods. The Gyeonggi Office of Education is promoting the Green Smart Future School project reflecting curricula, local and school conditions.
The booklets are designed to help understand and participate in the Gyeonggi-type Green Smart Future School project, specifically including the concept and direction of the Gyeonggi-type Green Smart Future School, design examples, and are made to be used in the preliminary planning stage at school sites.
The Design Book for Creating Future School Environments explains the concepts and vision of Green Smart Future Schools such as ▲space restructuring ▲green schools ▲smart environments ▲complexification of school facilities, and contains related cases and photographic materials.
Also, the Guide to Future School Environment Creation Projects includes ▲project procedure guidance ▲preliminary planning procedures ▲roles of teachers, students, and parents (local community) in the preliminary planning stage ▲examples of preliminary planning progress.

Lee Heon-ju, head of the Green Smart Future School Promotion Team at the Gyeonggi Office of Education, said, "We expect this booklet to gather diverse opinions on future school spaces and serve as a guide to creating distinctive Gyeonggi-type Green Smart Future School spaces," adding, "We will continue to provide guidance and reference materials to support the field through the Green Smart Future School website."
