Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Gwangju, Yeongam, Damyang, and Hwasun
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Heavy rain advisories have been issued for Gwangju and some areas of Jeonnam.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 6th, a heavy rain advisory was issued for Gwangju, Damyang, and Hwasun areas at 5:30 PM, and the advisory was upgraded to a heavy rain warning for Yeongam at 5:40 PM.
A heavy rain advisory is issued when 60mm or more of rainfall is expected in 3 hours or 110mm or more in 12 hours, and a heavy rain warning is issued when 90mm or more is expected in 3 hours or 180mm or more in 12 hours.
So far, the daily rainfall amounts recorded are 67.5mm in Yeongam, 32.8mm in Gwangju, 12.5mm in Damyang, and 2mm in Hwasun. The Meteorological Administration forecasts an additional 10 to 60mm of rain depending on the region.
