11 Jeontu Bihaengdan Joins Efforts to Overcome 'Blood Supply Crisis'
Blood Supply Shortage News Spurs Devotion Day Event... Over 400 Soldiers Participate
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Air Force 11th Fighter Wing (11th FW) announced on the 6th that it conducted a 'Love Blood Donation Campaign' over five days starting from the 2nd as part of its Day of Devotion event.
About 400 soldiers belonging to the 11th FW participated in this event. It was organized to overcome the blood supply crisis caused by the recent prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the cancellation of group blood donations and a decrease in individual donations during the vacation season.
Considering the various duty locations of the soldiers, the 11th FW operated five blood donation vehicles throughout the base to facilitate participation. The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Blood Center's dedicated blood collection team adhered to social distancing and quarantine guidelines by measuring soldiers' temperatures and frequently disinfecting the interior of the mobile blood donation vehicles to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The soldiers who participated in the blood donation voluntarily donated their blood donation certificates to the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Blood Center. Through this contribution, the soldiers practiced the Air Force core value of 'devotion' and re-recognized the value and importance of blood donation.
