9 Incumbent Lawmakers Join 'Choe Jaehyung Camp'... 'Democratic 4-term' Oh Jese Also Supports Choe

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Nine incumbent lawmakers have joined the campaign of Choi Jae-hyung, former Auditor General and presidential candidate of the People Power Party. Along with this, Oh Je-se, a four-term former lawmaker who has left the Democratic Party and announced his intention to join the People Power Party, has come out in support of former Auditor General Choi.
According to former Auditor General Choi’s campaign on the 6th, Park Dae-chul and Cho Hae-jin, both three-term lawmakers, have been appointed as heads of the Strategic Headquarters and Planning Headquarters, respectively.
Cho Tae-yong, a former First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, will serve as head of the Foreign Policy Headquarters; Park Soo-young, former Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, as head of the Policy Headquarters; Cho Myung-hee, a female venture businesswoman, as head of the Future Technology Industry and Jobs Headquarters; and Kim Mi-ae, chairwoman of the party’s Committee for Accompanying the Underprivileged, as head of the Women and Family Welfare Headquarters.
In addition, Jung Kyung-hee has been appointed head of the Education and Culture Headquarters, Lee Jong-sung as head of the Disability Policy Headquarters, and Seo Jeong-sook as head of the Health and Medical Headquarters.
Foreign and security affairs will be overseen by Cheon Young-woo, chairman of the Korea Peninsula Future Forum and former senior secretary for foreign affairs and security under the Lee Myung-bak administration, while economic policy will be managed by Kim Jong-seok, former lawmaker who translated "Mankiw’s Economics."
Former National Assembly Speaker Chung Ui-hwa will serve as honorary co-chairman of the campaign.
Meanwhile, on the same day, 40 former lawmakers including former Speaker Chung declared their support for former Auditor General Choi. Lawmakers Kang Sung-cheon, Moon Jeong-rim, Shin Sang-jin, Oh Je-se, Jung Jin-seop, and Heo Tae-yeol were among those who signed the declaration.

A campaign official for former Auditor General Choi explained, "It is true that former lawmaker Oh told former Speaker Chung that he would help former Auditor General Choi."
