[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao announced on the 6th its goal to achieve 1 trillion won in transaction volume in the Japanese webtoon market.
On the same day, Pae Jaehyun, Senior Vice President of Kakao, said during a conference call following the Q2 earnings announcement, "As the number one business operator in Japan, Kakao Japan aims to reach an annual transaction volume of 1 trillion won."

He added, "Kakao Japan's webtoon platform 'Piccoma' has secured a dominant position in the Japanese manga app market, distributing webtoons and digital scanned versions of existing manga works, expanding its market share to 65% based on June sales."
