[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Former Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong, who has entered the race as a presidential candidate for the People Power Party, criticized fellow party presidential candidates former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung, saying, "Have they presented any policies or visions?" and added, "Former Prosecutor General Yoon is dangerous, and Chairman Choi is vague."
On the morning of the 6th, former Governor Won appeared on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' and evaluated, "(Chairman Choi) said he was 'not prepared' in response to questions, and (former Prosecutor General Yoon) does not understand the issues of our people's lives and reveals outdated and irrelevant ideas," while criticizing, "He is busy showing off while touring our party's strongholds."
He continued, "We haven't even properly started yet, but if this kind of old-fashioned politics and outdated thinking combined with arrogant power is present, it must be corrected," emphasizing the point.
Regarding former Prosecutor General Yoon's controversial 'Fukushima remarks,' former Governor Won said, "It clearly shows signs of last-minute cramming. However, even that cramming was not properly digested, resulting in almost daily gaffes bordering on outrageous remarks," adding, "The problem is that these are not mistakes. They seem to reflect his original thoughts and values." He further criticized, "Because he speaks with such conviction, it is very dangerous," and said, "The idea that someone with these thoughts would be the highest decision-maker of our Republic of Korea is something I don't even want to imagine."
Regarding former Chairman Choi, he said, "Other than vaguely saying good things, I don't know what he is thinking," and evaluated, "Before pointing out his lack of preparation, it is difficult to understand why he even ran for president." He also pointed out, "He cannot persuasively present even the common-sense opinions held by ordinary citizens, so I cannot understand how he plans to lead the country."
