WYSIWYG Studio "WizOnSen to Co-Produce West End Musical... Will Grow into a Global Performance Content Company"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] WizOnSen, a subsidiary of comprehensive media content group Wysiwyg Studios (Wysiwyg) specializing in performance content, announced on the 6th that it has partnered with the UK’s Trafalgar Entertainment to co-produce the London West End musical Anything Goes.
The musical Anything Goes is a romantic comedy set on a cruise sailing across the refreshing sea. It is an IP that has run for 87 years and has achieved legendary success through revivals. The current performance, running in London’s West End until October 17, sold out all seats on opening day despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trafalgar Entertainment is a major UK performance group company with 17 subsidiaries covering theaters, distribution, and production. Following this musical co-production, WizOnSen is also discussing the acquisition of performance video content and is pursuing a partnership agreement between the two companies.
A WizOnSen representative said, “Based on aggressive overseas partnerships such as this co-production, WizOnSen will strengthen its global-level investment, production, and distribution business in performance content,” adding, “We will also focus on maximizing the value of performance content by providing digital content convergence solutions and diversified revenue channels in the domestic performance industry.”
He continued, “Ahead of the launch of a performance-specialized platform in the second half of this year, we are strengthening networks with famous overseas performance producers and distributors to ensure smooth content acquisition,” and added, “In the long term, we will proactively respond to the Fourth Industrial Revolution era by securing performance content IP linked to the metaverse and grow into a global top-tier performance content company.”
