Yeosu Industrial Complex, 20s Employee Electrocuted at Petrochemical Plant
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] A man in his 20s died from electric shock while inspecting equipment at a petrochemical plant in the Yeosu National Industrial Complex, Jeollanam-do.
According to the Yeosu Fire Station, "At around 10:45 a.m. on the 4th, employee B (29), who was inspecting the PLC electrical panel of Company A's equipment within the Yeosu National Industrial Complex, suffered an electric shock accident and was transported to the hospital but passed away."
Immediately after the accident, B received CPR at the scene and was transported to the hospital by the dispatched 119 rescue team but ultimately died.
The equipment was under trial operation and was reportedly in the stage before the process safety report review.
Police, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and other related officials are investigating the circumstances of the accident with company representatives at the scene.
