Samsung SDI Recruits Jang Rae-hyeok, KAIST Professor, as Vice President
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Samsung SDI announced on the 4th that it has recruited Jang Rae-hyeok, a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), as a vice president to strengthen its electric vehicle battery technology.
Vice President Jang will be in charge of battery technology research and development while leading the task force (TF) dedicated to the advanced large and medium-sized cylindrical system at Samsung SDI.
Born in 1967, Vice President Jang is recognized as a world authority in the field of low-power computing systems. In 2012, he was selected as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and in 2015, as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
