Choi Jong-geon, First Vice Foreign Minister, Attends Iranian President's Inauguration as Government Representative
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] Choi Jong-geon, the First Vice Foreign Minister, will attend the inauguration ceremony of Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, the 13th President of Iran, as a government representative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 3rd.
Vice Minister Choi is scheduled to visit Tehran from the 4th to the 5th, when the inauguration ceremony will be held.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects Vice Minister Choi's visit to serve as an opportunity to convey the intention to strengthen bilateral relations following the launch of the Raisi administration.
During his visit, Vice Minister Choi is expected to hold talks with Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.
Vice Minister Choi previously visited Iran in January to negotiate the release of a Korean vessel seized by Iran and the issue of frozen funds, during which he met with Deputy Minister Araghchi.
