Gwangju Seo-gu, 'Integrated Property and Equalization Tax' Reporting and Payment by the 31st

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 3rd that starting this year, for the convenience of taxpayers, the taxation system for resident tax has been simplified into individual, business place, and employee categories, and the payment deadline for the individual and business place categories has been unified to this month.

According to the revised Local Tax Act this year, the resident tax (equal amount) and resident tax (property amount) for individual business owners and corporations have been integrated and reorganized into resident tax (business place category).

With this reorganization of the resident tax business category, the previously separately paid property amount (July) and equal amount (August) by business owners have been combined into the business place category, allowing reporting and payment within this month.

The resident tax business place category's tax base is determined by the business place and total floor area, and the amount to be reported and paid is the sum of the basic tax rate (equal amount) and the rate based on the total floor area (property amount).

Seo-gu plans to send payment slips to minimize inconvenience caused by voluntary reporting by taxpayers, and if the amount on the payment slip is paid within the deadline, it will be recognized as reported without separate filing.

The payment slips for the business place category that Seo-gu will send this time amount to approximately 2.3 billion KRW.

Reporting and payment can be done through the internet electronic reporting site, WETAX, and alternatively by mail, fax, or visiting in person followed by payment at financial institutions.
