President Moon: "Devise Bold Government Support Measures for Corporate Workforce Training" (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in stated that the top priority of state affairs is job recovery and demanded that the government boldly support companies' workforce training initiatives.
On the morning of the 3rd, President Moon presided over the 34th Cabinet meeting and said, "We must actively discover and implement additional measures to close the COVID-19 gap and stabilize people’s livelihoods."
In this regard, he pointed out job recovery as the highest priority and instructed the government to act as a catalyst for job creation. President Moon said, "New technology fields such as software, artificial intelligence, and big data are a treasure trove of private sector jobs," adding, "I hope companies take the lead in workforce training, and the government actively explores bold support measures."
President Moon said, "If collaboration models between companies and the government spread, it will be a win-win situation where companies gain good talent and young people are provided with quality jobs simultaneously."
He also called for the expansion of the 'New Deal policy.' President Moon said, "We need to accelerate the private and regional expansion of the (Korean New Deal) so that citizens can feel changes in their daily lives," and to successfully implement the newly added Human New Deal, he urged, "We must greatly expand 'investment in people' and increase government support for rapid industrial restructuring and fair transition."

Regarding the realization of carbon neutrality and energy transition, he said, "I hope you take a more proactive stance and proceed swiftly with practical programs such as expanding the supply of renewable energy and fostering the hydrogen economy industrial ecosystem."
