Seocho-gu, First Local Government Nationwide to Establish Mobile-Linked Access Control System
Access app completely blocks phone camera shooting... Enhancing convenience with app-based access control system without face-to-face employee interaction
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) has established the nation's first 'Access Control Management App' system that blocks visitors' mobile phone camera usage at the CCTV Integrated Control Center to enhance the convenience of entry and exit procedures for visitors such as police officers. After a pilot operation starting in May, full-scale operation began in July.
The usage is very simple. Visitors wishing to enter the center install the app 'ZIKIM' by scanning a QR code, enter their visitor information, and press 'Visit.' After approval by the center administrator, they can enter.
At the same time, the visitor's mobile phone camera function is automatically blocked due to the app installation. When leaving, clicking 'Request Exit' within the app allows exit after administrator approval. Naturally, the mobile phone camera function is reactivated as before.
The reason the district installed this access control management app is to resolve the cumbersome process visitors to the Seocho Smart Hub Center (CCTV Integrated Control Center) had to endure, which involved attaching and removing security stickers to prevent mobile phone camera recording.
Additionally, it can fundamentally prevent unauthorized video leaks within the CCTV Integrated Control Center, which have occasionally appeared in the media recently.
A district official stated, "With this system, we expect a triple effect: strengthening the security of our residents' personal information videos, increasing convenience through a non-face-to-face, one-touch app-based access management, and managing accurate and objective access history information."
The Seocho Smart Hub Center has been tirelessly active with aggressive monitoring using 3,704 CCTVs installed in the area, resulting in 186 criminal arrests and 1,459 preemptive interventions.
Moreover, on the 2nd of this month, they played a key role in apprehending a robber disguised as an apartment delivery worker within 11 minutes by tracking CCTV movement paths. Due to such efforts to ensure safety, the center was ranked first in the 'Best Control Center Selection Evaluation' hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in the first half of this year.
