President Moon: "Gap between SMEs and small merchants widens... Need to spread exemplary cases of coexistence"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in pointed out the growing gap between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners, emphasizing the expansion of exemplary win-win cases.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, President Moon presided over a senior secretaries meeting and said, "When looking at SMEs as a whole, it is true that there is a gap between SMEs that can thrive and those that cannot."
He added, "There are small business owners who quickly adapt to changes such as digital transformation and online sales and follow government policy trends well, but there are also those who are unaware of the systems and fail to adapt, resulting in a large gap. Share information and promote efficiently so that the systems can be well utilized and exemplary cases of win-win cooperation can spread," he instructed.
He continued, "As the world is changing rapidly, SME policies must also change quickly, and above all, listen to and reflect the voices from the field."
