Gwangyang Steelworks Employees Serve as Employment Mentors Providing 1:1 Customized Mentoring
[Gwangyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Kim Jiyong) is recruiting participants for ‘Employment Consulting’ to support employment from July 30 to August 10.
As a corporate citizen leading the resolution of social issues, Gwangyang Steelworks has partnered with Gwangyang City to support ‘Employment Consulting’ to encourage the dreams of local youth. Various programs to strengthen employment capabilities will be operated, including setting individual employment goals, career counseling, resume editing, and interview coaching.
‘Employment Consulting with POSCO and Gwangyang City’ is conducted by dividing the program into job and employment sessions according to the general recruitment process, providing intensive employment consulting for each. In particular, since participants are matched 1:1 with employment mentors for customized mentoring, it is expected to be a more effective opportunity to enhance employment capabilities.
In the job session, mentors are selected by major to freely ask employment seniors about job duties, employment methods, company life, and other questions. In the employment session, tips necessary for employment such as recruitment trends, resume writing methods, and interviews are provided.
Gwangyang Steelworks invites newly hired engineers familiar with recent employment market trends and HR department practitioners as employment mentors to help share practical and vivid employment know-how. Employees of Gwangyang Steelworks who will become mentors will also complete training for employment consulting to provide more professional and responsible employment mentoring.
The recruitment period will be held for 12 days from Friday the 30th to Tuesday the 10th of next month until 6 p.m., and about 100 people will be recruited. Anyone preparing for employment under the age of 35 with a registered address in Gwangyang City, either themselves or their parents, can apply. When applying, applicants must submit their school, major, grade, desired job type, and a self-introduction letter (recommended).
Once the selection of candidates is completed, detailed schedules will be individually notified later. The program will be held for a total of 4 days from Tuesday, August 17 to Friday, August 20 at the Gwangyang Youth Dream Center. In addition, continuous feedback will be provided to participants even after the program ends, and additional recruitment will be conducted for those who wish.
