Yoon's Wife Kim Geon-hee Defamation Mural Appears
Jung Cheong-rae: "Choi Jae-hyung's Spinning Kick Trick Causes Yoon's Mysterious First Defeat"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Amid former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung condemning a mural defaming Kim Geon-hee, wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, on the 29th, Jeong Cheong-rae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, pointed out, "He pretends to support Yoon Seok-yeol, but isn't it just his own media play?"
On the same day, Jeong posted on his Facebook under the title "Condemning Choi Jae-hyung," saying, "With Choi Jae-hyung's roundhouse kick trick like this, Yoon Seok-yeol has suffered a mysterious first defeat."
He said, "Choi Jae-hyung called the mural of Julie 'anger for Yoon Seok-yeol,' and since his condemnation speech was circulated again in the media, wouldn't Yoon Seok-yeol actually be angry at Choi Jae-hyung's anger?"
Furthermore, Jeong sarcastically addressed former Chairman Choi, saying, "At times like this, staying silent is truly comforting Yoon Seok-yeol," and added, "Isn't Yoon Seok-yeol inwardly unable to speak and condemning Choi Jae-hyung's condemnation?"
Earlier, a mural defaming Kim, wife of former Prosecutor General Yoon, appeared on the outer wall of a building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, sparking controversy.
The mural included the phrase "Julie’s Men" along with "2000 Dr. Amugae, 2005 Chairman Jo, 2006 Prosecutor Amugae, 2006 Prosecutor Yang, 2007 BM CEO, 2008 Announcer Kim, 2009 Prosecutor Yoonseob" written. Another mural featured a drawing of a woman's face with the phrase "Julie's Dream! The First Lady's Dream!"
In response, former Chairman Choi expressed regret through Facebook, stating, "We must not tolerate acts that regress democracy under the name of freedom of expression."
He criticized, "I heard news that a mural defaming candidate Yoon’s family was put up. I cannot contain my anger. This is low-quality defamation and political violence, and it is character assassination under the guise of freedom of expression."
He continued, "Engaging in such personal attacks under the pretext of freedom of expression damages the value of democracy," and said, "It drags down the political dignity of our country."
Former Chairman Choi also emphasized, "Verification of candidates and their associates in a presidential election is necessary. But there is a line that must not be crossed," adding, "If that line is crossed, everyone who wants to protect democracy must unite to stop it. This filthy violence against humans must stop immediately."
