A Man in His 50s Wields a Weapon at Veterinarian and Hospital Director After His Pet Dies During Surgery
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 50s who wielded a weapon at a veterinarian and the hospital director after his pet dog died during surgery was arrested by the police.
Seoul Yangcheon Police Station announced on the 28th that they have arrested and are investigating Mr. A (52) on charges of aggravated assault.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of stabbing a veterinarian's arm with medical scissors, causing injury, after becoming enraged when his pet dog died during a neutering surgery at an animal hospital in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, around 5:30 PM the previous day.
After leaving the hospital, Mr. A returned about 30 minutes later intoxicated and struck the hospital director on the head with a soju bottle, causing injury, according to the investigation.
The victims, who sustained injuries to their arms and head, received hospital treatment but are reported to be out of life-threatening danger.
