KF94 Masks, Size Differences Even in Same Large Size... Performance and Safety All Excellent
Korea Consumer Agency, Test Evaluation Results of 9 Products
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] It has been found that KF94 mask products sold on the market have size differences even within the same large size, so it is necessary to choose and wear a product that fits your face well.
On the 27th, the Korea Consumer Agency disclosed the results of safety, quality, hygiene, and size tests conducted on nine KF94 mask products. The products surveyed were Aer's 'Standard Light S Health Mask', Aniguard's 'Daily 3D Fine Dust Mask' and 'Basic Yellow Dust Protective Mask', Kleenex's 'KF94 Daily Protective Mask' and '4-Layer Mask', Gukdae Mask's 'K Health Mask Mika', Clean Country's 'Yellow Dust Protective Mask', Dr. Purie's 'Yellow Dust Mask', and Wellkips' 'New Smart Yellow Dust Mask'.
The survey results showed that even within the same large size, the horizontal length (the maximum horizontal length measured when the mask is folded in half) differed by up to 42mm, and the vertical length differed by up to 17mm depending on the product. The Consumer Agency stated that for KF94 masks to perform properly, it is important to use a size that fits the face well so that there is no gap between the mask and the face.

In terms of safety, quality, and hygiene, all products were found to have no issues. All products met performance standards for dust collection efficiency, which filters out fine particles such as fine dust, and face leakage rate, which measures the amount of external air leaking through gaps between the face and mask during wear. The face inhalation resistance, which indicates the degree to which external substances are blocked from entering the respiratory tract while allowing comfortable breathing, was also without problems. Safety test results for formaldehyde, fluorescent brighteners, and other factors showed no abnormalities in all products.
