Imsil-gun Conducts 'Suicide Prevention and Life Keeper Training' Program
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Jeonbuk Imsil-gun (Governor Sim Min) recently announced on the 26th that it conducted 'Suicide Prevention and Life Keeper Training' for 124 senior university students affiliated with the Korean Senior Citizens Association Imsil-gun Branch.
This training was prepared to reduce the suicide rate among the elderly residing in the county and to promote systematic and smooth mental health improvement projects for local residents.
Taking this training as an opportunity, the county health care center plans to actively support those recognized as needing psychological tests, counseling support, and treatment cost assistance to promote the mental health of elderly residents.
The county will actively promote early detection and treatment linkage for high-risk suicide groups, as well as education and publicity for the general public to prevent depression caused by COVID-19.
In addition, through the operation of psychological and emotional programs for mental health promotion and continuous implementation of systematic counseling and case management projects to protect families in crisis, the county plans to reduce the suicide rate in the local community.
Governor Sim Min said, "Through this training, we will support various services to promote the health and mental health of the elderly in the region," and added, "We will strive to establish a mental health safety net in the community, including securing the safety of high-risk families."
