Iraq Prime Minister: "All Baghdad Mayor Assailants Arrested"
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi announced on the 24th (local time) that suspects involved in the recent bomb attack at the Baghdad market have been arrested.
Through Twitter on the same day, Prime Minister Al-Kadhimi stated, "We have arrested all the cowardly members who planned and carried out the terror attack," adding, "They will all stand trial."
He did not disclose the identities or the number of the arrested terrorists.
A source from the Ministry of Interior told AFP, "The arrested suspects are expected to confess."
On the 19th, a bomb attack occurred at the Uhailat Market in Sadr City, eastern Baghdad, killing 30 people and injuring over 60.
At that time, the Islamic State (IS), a Sunni extremist militant group, claimed on their Telegram messenger channel that one of their members carried out a suicide bombing.

IS also claimed responsibility for a series of suicide bombings in January at Bab Al-Sharqi in central Baghdad, which killed over 30 people and injured more than 100.
