Police to Send Corporate Executives Suspected of Battery Technology Leakage to Prosecutors
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] SK Innovation employees suspected of stealing electric vehicle battery technology will be sent to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 23rd, the Security Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency plans to conclude the investigation into SK Innovation employees' violation of the Industrial Technology Protection Act soon and send the case to the prosecution.
The police began investigating after receiving a complaint from LG Energy Solution (formerly LG Chem Battery Division) in May 2019 and have conducted four raids on SK so far.

LG Energy Solution and SK Innovation have been engaged in patent disputes and lawsuits domestically and internationally, and in April of this year, SK agreed to pay LG 2 trillion won. However, the police explained that the investigation into the violation of the Industrial Technology Protection Act will not be halted just because the two companies reached an agreement.
