The New Era of Edutech Begins with AI Instructors Leading Education
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The education platform market is also experiencing a wave of artificial intelligence (AI). As AI, a core technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution, merges with the education industry, edutech services are emerging where AI replaces areas previously handled by humans.
Class101 recently launched 'Creating Online Classes for Absolute Beginners,' the first among Class101 courses to introduce an AI creator. An AI creator modeled after former announcer Kim Hyun-wook appears to clearly explain the information needed to open an online lecture. This AI creator was developed using deep learning-based voice and video synthesis technology. After creating an AI human, it can speak with the exact voice, tone, and gestures of a real person just by providing text, enabling the creation of various lecture contents without an actual person teaching. Riding on the popularity of the AI creator class, Class101 plans to additionally introduce content adapted from e-book information into audio conversational formats and classes that help build lifestyle habits.
Global edutech company Mathpresso's 'Qanda' has surpassed 2 billion AI problem-solving cases. Qanda's AI problem-solving search app allows students to take pictures of problems they don't understand while studying and search for solutions, providing free access to the problem's solution. Mathpresso's proprietary AI-based optical character recognition technology quickly delivers optimized results to students. The cumulative problem-solving count includes all subjects, including mathematics, where students searched for and solved unknown problems. It showed steady growth, surpassing 500 million cases in April last year and 1 billion cases in October.
