Confirmed Cases at Nonsan Training Center Not Decreasing
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter]Four additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have been reported within the military.
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 23rd, three Army soldiers and one Navy officer tested positive. The three soldiers are all trainees at the Army Training Center in Nonsan, Chungnam. They were quarantined due to confirmed cases within the unit and tested positive before being released from quarantine. As a result, the Army Training Center has seen a cumulative total of 120 confirmed cases due to a cluster infection since the first confirmed case was reported on the 7th (based on the reporting date).
The Navy officer tested positive during a diagnostic test while hospitalized with their child who was also confirmed positive. This officer has received two doses of the vaccine.

The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases within the military is 1,481, with 343 currently undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, the number of soldiers aged 30 and over who have received the second vaccine dose totals 90,886, which is 77.7% of the approximately 117,000 who received the first dose.
