Saltlux "Expanding AI Business in Metaverse and New Drug Development... Aiming for 1 Trillion Won Company"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Saltlux announced on the 23rd that it is focusing on strengthening its business portfolio and securing new growth engines with the goal of growing into a unicorn company valued at over 1 trillion KRW.
Saltlux has already commercialized the AI virtual human "Metahuman," a core element of the recently spotlighted metaverse, for over two years, providing it to Seoul City, Gwangju City, LG Uplus, and others. It also invested in the metaverse platform company Frontis and has been conducting business cooperation. Recently, with Frontis being acquired by Hancom Intelligence, cooperation between Saltlux and the Hancom Group is anticipated to strengthen the metaverse business in the future. Additionally, as the most representative digital New Deal operator in Korea, Saltlux is generating high expectations for its participation in metaverse-related projects under the significantly expanded Digital New Deal 2.0 starting next year.
Furthermore, since February, Saltlux has been actively advancing its AI bio-health business, which it has long prepared, through participation in the Genome Special Zone project, establishment of the Ulsan Bio AI Center, and collaboration with specialized companies. In April, together with next-generation genome analysis specialist Clinomics, Saltlux established the bio venture company "ZeroMix," focusing on developing platforms for AI and large-scale data-based new drug development and next-generation immuno-oncology drug development, which are future core growth businesses. ZeroMix is expected to secure global competitiveness by analyzing Korea’s only 10,000-person human genome data through AI.
Saltlux is also actively discovering and investing in next-generation promising companies. It has directly invested in a total of 11 companies so far, including K-POP platform company Hunter Global, legal platform company Amicus Rex, autonomous driving data specialist Infinic, AI engine development specialist Soynet, and AI/digital platform company T3Q. By establishing the specialized venture capital firm "Saltlux Ventures," it plans to accelerate these efforts further. Additionally, strategic business expansion through large-scale mergers and acquisitions is also planned.

A Saltlux official stated, “Saltlux, which has grown over 20% annually for the past five years, is expected to achieve over 50% growth by the end of this year as its business expands further. We are developing new AI-based businesses to strengthen not only corporate and public sector markets but also B2C business targeting individual customers. These will be launched in the second half of this year, with plans to enter not only the domestic but also the global market,” emphasizing the company’s outlook.
