The Anti-Corruption Economic Crime Investigation Division of the Gyeongnam Police Agency announced on the 22nd that they conducted a search and seizure at Yangsan City Hall the previous day to secure materials related to the real estate favoritism allegations involving Mayor Kim Il-gwon of Yangsan.
The police searched the One-Stop Permit Division of Yangsan City Hall, which was responsible for permits at the time, to verify allegations such as the illegal designation of a river embankment in front of Mayor Kim Il-gwon’s land in Sangbuk-myeon, Yangsan City, as a road under the Building Act in May 2019.
