According to the Seogwipo Coast Guard on the 22nd, at around 10:43 a.m., a diving company employee nearby reported a body floating about 100 meters off the east side of the Hamobangpa-je breakwater beach in Sangmo-ri, Daejeong-eup. Fingerprint identification confirmed that the body was Mr. A, who went missing after being swept away by waves while fishing with a friend at Hamobangpa-je breakwater on the 20th.
The Seogwipo Coast Guard conducted underwater, surface, and land searches following a report from Mr. A’s companions after he was swept away by the waves. However, the search was hampered by a high swell advisory issued for the Jeju sea and waves reaching up to 3 meters in height.
