Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation Sponsors 'Ilju Mathematics Symposium 2021'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The Taekwang Group Ilju Academic and Cultural Foundation (Ilju Foundation) is sponsoring mathematical research in the basic science field to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of its founder, the late Ilju (一洲) Lee Im-yong.
On the 22nd, the Ilju Foundation announced that it will sponsor the 'Ilju Mathematics Symposium 2021,' jointly hosted by the POSTECH Mathematics Institute and the Mathematical Data Science Institute (POSTECH MINDS).
The Ilju Mathematics School, themed on 'Functional Analysis' and 'Mathematical Data Science,' will be held from July 21 to 23 at the POSTECH Mathematical Sciences Building. The Ilju Foundation has been supporting the Ilju Mathematics School, which gathers world-renowned scholars, for 16 years since 2009. The total sponsorship amount reaches 240 million KRW.
Another program, the 'Ilju-POSTECH MINDS Workshop,' was held online from July 6 to 9, and the 'Ilju-MINDS Intensive Data Science Research School (POSTECH)' is scheduled to be held online from August 9 to 20. The mathematical analysis of density and the AI music concert 'Ilju-Pohang AI Pungnyu Performance' will take place on July 29 at the Seoul JCC Art Center.
