The completion ceremony held at the traditional market in Jido-eup was attended by 90 people, including Governor Park Woo-ryang, Kim Hyuk-seong, chairman of the county council, Kim Moon-soo, Jeollanam-do council member, Lee Eun-kyung, secretary-general of the Korea LPG Pipeline Project Group Foundation, and residents, while strictly adhering to the level 2 social distancing quarantine rules elevated due to the recent spread of COVID-19.
The district-level LPG pipeline support project is a project that supplies LPG gas to each household through LPG storage facilities and underground pipelines, providing safety and convenience at the level of city gas.
The Sinan-gun LPG pipeline project was established targeting about 1,100 households in 17 villages, including Eupnae-ri in Jido-eup, with a total project cost of 19.3 billion KRW.
The households can save more than 40% of fuel costs compared to using existing LPG cylinders, and can use more modernized gas facilities such as gas boilers, metal pipe replacement, and alarm installation.
In addition, a care service is provided that allows real-time monitoring of gas usage through wireless-connected gas meters for each household, enabling welfare checks for high-risk solitary elderly.
