Jeon Nam Provincial Assemblyman Shin Min-ho, Enacts Dokdo Education Support Ordinance
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Shin Min-ho, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea·Suncheon 6), announced on the 20th that the ‘Jeollanam-do Dokdo Education Support Ordinance’ to protect Dokdo has been passed.
This ordinance stipulates ▲ the establishment of a Dokdo education support plan ▲ development of Dokdo education programs and research support such as academic conferences ▲ implementation of surveys ▲ establishment of cooperative systems for systematic Dokdo education in elementary, middle, and high schools within Jeonnam province.
Assemblyman Shin Min-ho stated, “Japan has systematically and organizedly distorted history by mandating territorial education claiming Dokdo as Japanese territory in all history textbooks for elementary, middle, and high schools this year,” and added, “It is necessary to respond strongly as Japan has shown its ambition to invade Dokdo at the global festival, the Olympics.”

He continued, “Dokdo is not an island of dispute but an island of peace, and it is clearly Korean territory historically, geographically, and under international law,” emphasizing, “Let us firmly stand against any provocative acts by Japan and protect our land, Dokdo.”
