Peaches shipped from Sangju City were exported to Malaysia for the first time this year through the export company Gyeongbuk Tongsang, with a volume of about 300 kg.
Malaysia is a market showing high export potential in Southeast Asia due to the Korean Wave, and Korean agricultural products are well loved by locals. In particular, Sangju peaches, which are rich in juice and sweet, are very popular and are expected to be steadily exported this year as well.
Last year, Sangju City exported 60 tons of peaches to Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries, recording export sales of 400 million won.
