"Full Effort in AI·DX Talent Development" KT Launches 3rd Phase of 'Future Talent Nurturing Project'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT announced on the 19th that it will launch the 3rd phase of the ‘Future Talent Development Project’ to nurture in-house talent in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation (DX). The Future Talent Development Project is KT’s talent cultivation initiative aimed at securing talent to lead the AI, cloud, and DX sectors and to leap forward as a Digico (digital platform company).
Marking its 3rd phase, the Future Talent Development Project was implemented for the first time since CEO Koo Geon-mo took office, as a re-education program for existing employees. CEO Koo’s philosophy, reflecting the belief that to successfully lead AI business and digital innovation, the company must actively nurture talent with potential and growth capabilities internally, was incorporated.
For this 3rd phase, employees wishing to transition to roles in AI, cloud, and DX fields were selected through an internal recruitment process. Applicants were accepted regardless of age, department, or rank, and final candidates were chosen through document screening and interviews. From this month until December, participants will engage full-time for six months in practical AI and DX project assignments. Employees who complete the program will be assigned to core departments related to AI, cloud, and DX to perform their duties.
To accelerate the transformation into a Digico, the 3rd phase introduced new fields in cloud and business-to-business (B2B) consulting. Additionally, employees from group companies such as KT CS and KT IS will participate in the training program to strengthen DX capabilities and execute AI projects from a group-wide perspective, seeking group synergies.
Graduates of the full-time 2nd phase in AI and cloud fields, which ran until June, obtained two or more certifications such as the KT AI Associate during the training period. Moreover, over 80% of the projects carried out by trainees, including the ‘Olleh TV Customer Customized Offering,’ are expected to be commercialized. Furthermore, graduates of the program serve as in-house ABC (AI, Big Data, Cloud) coaches.
At the 3rd phase entrance ceremony held as an ontact meeting, CEO Koo Geon-mo stated, “The most important factor in KT’s transformation into a digital platform company is people,” adding, “The 1st phase employees who completed the program last year are playing significant roles in their respective positions, and I hope that these success stories will continue through the 2nd and 3rd phases, laying the foundation for the company’s growth as a Digico.”
